Do bears eat berries in the woods??? WE DO!!!

One of the great joys of spending much of the summer in McCall, Idaho, has been this years' prolific crop of huckleberries that grow in the forests of this area. We have gone out several times to locate this tasty berry and have used them on our cereal, in pancakes, and in a huckleberry cobbler recipe that we discovered on the internet.
Try this when you can:
1 box butter recipe yellow cake mix
3/4 cup butter
1 cup finely ground pecans
1 cup quick-cooking Oatmeal
1 T. cinnamon
1-1/2 cups fresh or frozen huckleberries

Preheat oven to 350 deg. Mix first five ingredients until crumbly. Put half of the mixture in the bottom of a 13x9-inch baking pan (sprayed with cooking oil) and pat down. Distribute the huckleberries over the bottom layer. Sprinkle the remaining crumb mixture over the top of the berries and pat lightly. Bake 30 minutes or until lightly browned. Serve with whipped cream or ice cream. ENJOY!!!!!
